Torify ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile application for organizing amateur football leagues, generating balanced teams, tracking player statistics, and managing standings. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
1. Data We Collect
When you use Torify, we collect the following information:
Account Information:
- Email address and password (for authentication)
- Display name
- Phone number (optional)
- Profile photo (optional)
Player Profile Data:
- Jersey number and player role (goalkeeper, outfield, substitute)
- Playing statistics (goals, assists, appearances, wins, draws, losses, fouls, points)
- Social media handles: Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter (optional)
League & Match Data:
- League name, format, and settings
- Match results, scores, and events
- Availability responses for match days
- Chat messages within leagues
- Tournament brackets and season history
Device Information:
- Push notification tokens (for sending notifications)
- Device locale (for language preferences)
- Crash reports and error logs (in production only)
2. How We Use Your Data
- Authenticate your account and manage your profile
- Organize leagues, generate balanced teams, and track match statistics
- Send push notifications about match day availability and team formations
- Enable in-league chat communication
- Monitor and fix app crashes and errors
3. Third-Party Services
Torify uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database (Firestore), and backend functions. Data is stored on Google Cloud servers. Firebase Privacy Policy

- Sentry — Error and crash reporting (production only). May collect device and error context data. Sentry Privacy Policy
We do not use any advertising, analytics, or tracking services beyond crash reporting.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared with the third-party services listed above, strictly for the app's operation.
Other members of your league can see your display name, profile photo, jersey number, role, playing statistics, social media handles, and chat messages.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Firebase Firestore, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
Profile photos are compressed and resized before being stored. Passwords are handled entirely by Firebase Authentication and are never stored in plaintext.
6. Data Retention
- Account data is retained until you delete your account
- Player statistics are reset at the start of each new season, with historical data preserved in season history
- Chat messages are retained for the duration of the league
- Invite codes expire automatically after their validity period
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data through your profile screen
- Update your personal data at any time via the profile settings
- Delete your account and associated data from the app's settings (Delete Account)
- Withdraw consent for push notifications via your device settings
If you are in the European Union, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8. Children's Privacy
Torify is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
